Federal Election 2025 Call to Action

📣 It’s Federal Election Time 📣

CDA is joining national efforts to advocate and raise awareness on the importance of voting for the arts!

Until election day on April 28, 2025, you can get involved to make your voice heard.

🎯  In this federal election, CDA continues to advocate for all parties to commit to investing at least 1% of the federal budget on Arts and Culture annually (only a 0.06% increase) including a $140 million increase for the Canada Council for the Arts and $130 million for Canadian Heritage.

What you can do starting today:

1- Use the Canadian Art Coalition’s ArtsVote ElectionToolkit here. You will find a poster to put in your front window and some information, data and key messages.

2- Make sure to engage with candidates when they knock at your door. You can use the facts sheet here to help you start the conversation.

3- Show your support on social media by framing your picture.  Find the frames like this one below here in few different colors.

We suggest the caption : In this federal election I am asking all parties to commit to investing at least 1% on Arts and Culture annually (only a 0.06% increase). I vote for an increase to the Canada Council for the Arts and Canadian Heritage. Voting with arts in mind supports our communities’ health and well being.

Tag your candidates in your riding. You can find them here.

Tag if you want @liberalca, @cpc_hq, @ndpcanada, @blocquebecois, @thegreenparty_canada.

Local Chambers of Commerce often organise them but not only. You may be able to submit a question in advance to the host organization (usually a chamber of commerce), and if so, please consider using this question.
