Advocacy
The CDA represents the dance sector to government. Advocacy, lobbying, and government relations are valuable activities because then politicians consider the dance community in their decisions. The CDA’s advocacy includes:
- Pre-budget briefs to the federal government
- Online communications for the dance community on advocacy issues (eg. infographics)
- Advocacy Alerts for letter writing campaigns
- Strategy development for the sector negotiations
CDA’s advocacy work has helped increase available funding, but has also made the everyday administration of dance quicker and easier, thereby making time for the business of dance. CDA works closely with the government relations firm
Global Public Affairs.
Please refer to the
Strategic Guidelines for how CDA conducts its advocacy work.
