Board to recruit new executive director to implement new vision and mandate
The Dance Umbrella of Ontario today announced a bold new vision and mandate focused on expanding and tailoring the organization’s services, striking innovative partnerships and providing renewed leadership to the Ontario dance sector. The new vision and mandate follows a comprehensive process of research, planning and consultation.
DUO will also seek new leadership after receiving, with regret, Jay Rankin’s resignation as Executive Director due to family circumstances. While we are sorry to see Jay go, we are confident in DUO’s new direction and are a stronger organization as a result of it. The progress we have made together as a board, staff and community on a new vision for the organization will continue under new leadership, in close collaboration with our community.
The new vision provides for services and initiatives that include:
• Communications plans and tools including social media
• Implementing and utilizing new operating models
• Animating DUO as a community hub, physically and virtually
• Audience development and marketing strategies
The board and staff are working diligently to ensure a smooth transition from Jay’s leadership to a leadership transition team, to be announced in the coming weeks. We welcome the support of our community as we navigate this change.
